6 plump ripe lemons
2 1/2 cups sugar
Cut lemons into quarters and squeeze into glass gallon pitcher. Leave lemons in pitcher. Pour sugar over top, stir together and add 2 cups hot water. Stir well to dissolve sugar and fill halfway with cold water. Stir again to completely dissolve sugar and fill to the top with crushed ice, stirring as you add the ice. Allow to sit for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to blend flavor.
