Chocolate Decadence Cake

1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 bag (or 6 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 box chocolate fudge cake mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup applesauce
2 eggs
Dash of salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 can premade chocolate frosting
Oven: 350 °

Grease bottom only of 13" x 9" pan; lightly flour.
Beat cake mix with oil in large mixing bowl on low speed of mixer for 30 seconds. The mixture will appear crumbly. Reserve 1 cup of the mixture.

Into remaining mixture on low speed beat applesauce and eggs for 30 seconds until batter appears thick and somewhat grainy; beat on medium speed for 2 more minutes. Spread mixture into prepared pan. In a small bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and 1/2  of the chocolate chips and microwave just till chocolate softens; stir until smooth and drop by spoonfuls over batter, dripping more around edges than in the center.

Combine remaining 1/2 of the chocolate chips and the pecans with the reserved cake mixture; sprinkle evenly over batter. Bake 45-50 minutes or until center is set. Run a knife around side of pan to loosen cake. Cool completely, about 2 hours. Spoon frosting into a microwave safe measuring cup; microwave for 30 seconds; stir. If not pourable, microwave again in 10 second intervals untill still thick but pourable. Pour evenly over cake, drizzling down sides. Store cake at room temperature.
