Dese Cake

1 cup shortening or margarine
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup sifted confectioner's sugar
Juice of one lemon
Oven:  400

Cream shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy.  Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.  Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and beat into egg mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Stir in 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Bake in 2 greased and lightly floured loaf pans until cake springs back when pressed lightly in center and sides pull away from pan.  Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to rack for cooling.  Beat together juice of lemon and confectioner's sugar until smooth and consistency of evaporated milk.  Drizzle over top of cake.
