Restaurant Style Peach Cobbler


1 1/2 cups self rising flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups milk
1 quart canned peaches
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup water
1/2 stick of butter
Oven: 350º
 

Mix flour and 1½ cups sugar together with milk until batter becomes smooth. To the peaches add ½ cup sugar, extracts and 1 cup water. Melt ½ stick of butter in 8-inch by 8-inch square baking pan. (Or you can use a 9-inch pie baking pan.) Pour batter into dish and then spoon peaches onto the batter. Do not stir. Bake in for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown.
