Scones

2 cups all-purpose flour
l/3 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
l/8 teaspoon salt
l/3 cup chilled butter
2 eggs, beaten
l teaspoon vanilla
½ cup plus 1 tablespoon whipping cream
Oven:  375º

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut the butter into the flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add whipping cream, beaten egg and vanilla stirring until just blended, being careful not to over mix. Knead dough gently a few strokes on lightly floured surface. Roll dough about l ½ inches thick. Cut into triangles and place on lightly greased pan. Brush tops with mixture of 1 beaten egg and 1 tablespoon cream. Bake approximately 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
