Pecan Sandies, Long Method
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 teaspoons water
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
In mixing bowl, cream the sugar and butter until fluffy and well mixed; add water and vanilla and mix until smooth and blended. Blend in the flour and pecans, mixing well. Chill this mixture at least 4 hours, then shape into balls and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for approximately 20 minutes. Remove from pans, cool slightly and roll in confectioner's sugar. Will make about 36 small ball cookies.
