Pecan Sandies, Short Method

1 cup softened butter
 4 tablespoons sugar
 2 cups self-rising flour, sifted
 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 1 cup ground pecans
Confectioner's sugar
Oven:  350°

 Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; beat in vanilla.  Mix in flour and pecans.  Mix well. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.  Bake on greased cookie sheets 20-25 minutes.  Cool, then roll each cookie in powdered sugar.  Yield: about 4 dozen.
