Sourdough Starter Method 1

2 cups milk
2 cups all-purpose unbleached flour (or whole wheat flour)
1 teaspoon sugar or honey

Allow milk to sit in ceramic bowl or glass jar, covered with a cloth, at room temperature for 24 hours.  Add flour and sweetener and cover with cheesecloth, allowing to sit in warm place until mixture begins to bubble and expands (may take a few days).  Continue with desired recipe.
