Streusel Coffeecake

3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 cup whole milk
1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
4 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
Oven:  375º

Combine sugar, oil, and egg.  Add milk and beat thoroughly. Sift together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder and salt and stir into milk mixture. Beat until smooth.  Spread in a greased 9-inch square pan.  In small bowl, using fork, stir together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, cinnamon, butter and nuts. Sprinkle over batter.  Bake about 30 minutes.
