Old Fashion Tea Cakes 6 ½ cups flour
2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream
Oven: 375º
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla - mix well. Add dry ingredients and sour cream alternately starting and ending with dry ingredients. Roll out to at least 1/4 inch thick and cut out. Bake on parchment lined cooky sheets for 12-15 min. If you want you can sprinkle plain or colored sugar on the cookies before baking. Will make about 24 large cookies.
