Homemade Dog Biscuits

Here's one just for the Pooch!

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups bran
1 cup yellow cornmeal
4 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup rye flour
1/2 cup non-fat dry milk
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
2 cups tomato juice
Oven:  300°

Dissolve yeast in warm water; stir in tomato juice.  Combine all-purpose flour, bran, grits or cornmeal, salt, garlic powder, whole wheat flour, rye flour and non-fat dry milk powder.  Stir in yeast mixture.  Dough should be very stiff.

On lightly floured board roll dough 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick; cut into desired shapes.  Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 1 hour.  Turn oven off and allow biscuits to harden in oven 4 hours or overnight.  Will make about 6 dozen biscuits depending on size.
