Sourdough Rolls

1 package or 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm milk
1 cup Starter*
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups bread or whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Oven:  350º

Proof the yeast in the warm milk and combine with starter and vegetable oil.  Sift dry ingredients together and blend into liquid mixture.  Cover bowl and allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.  Punch down, shape into desired rolls on ungreased baking sheet and allow to rise again until almost doubled, about 45 minutes.  Bake about 15 minutes.  Will make 1 dozen rolls.

* You may choose Starter No. 1 (made with sugar and honey) or Starter No. 2 (made with potatoes)
